PAL Explorers Post #610
The PAL Police Explorers program provides kids with an opportunity
to learn about community policing. The Explorers program is open
to young men and women ages 14-20, and teaches them discipline,
character, responsibility, and citizenship. The Explorers program,
led by Officer Perry Barber, meets regularly and has included training
in fingerprinting and investigative techniques. The Explorers compete
each year in an Explorers competition putting their new policing
skills and techniques to the test against other Explorers from surrounding
counties. Also included are field trips to the Fort Lee Military
Police, FBI Academy, and the 911 Center, exposing these young Explorers
to potential career opportunities in law enforcement. For more information
on the Explorers program, please contact Officer Perry Barber at
perry.barber@richmondgov.com.
